Approach.
Investing in early-stage technology-driven insurance businesses.
1
Insurance = Technology
We look for businesses that apply innovative technologies to the insurance industry, but we often find our best conversations begin with founders who describe their businesses as PropTech, CyberTech, RegTech, FinTech, or sometimes "just" insurance.
2
Impact
We like businesses that focus on solving large and challenging problems, ones that will have a broad impact on the world (or at least the insurance industry!). To date, that has meant a focus on B2B businesses in the Property & Casualty sector.
3
North America
We don’t care where your team or your headquarters is, but we can make the greatest impact as investors if your target customer is in North America, where we can apply our domain expertise and market connectivity to support your growth.
4
Early-Stage
We invest “early enough” to make a difference in your business. That may mean that you are just getting started (pre-Seed, Seed). Or, that you are a critical juncture, getting ready to scale (Series A). We write initial checks of US$1M - 3M and will continue to participate in select funding rounds as long as we have a seat at the table.
5
Collaboration
We want to work with a diverse group of founders and founding teams that value collaboration. We actively support our portfolio companies and typically invest alongside other independent and institutional investors.
